該公報自1881年以來連續(xù)出版，包括較長的有關(guān)動物學、古生物學和地質(zhì)學的自然科學專著。目前的數(shù)字不定期公布。《公報》最初是發(fā)表短篇論文的地方，而較長的作品則出現(xiàn)在回憶錄中。然而，在20世紀20年代，《回憶錄》停刊，《簡報》系列開始發(fā)表篇幅較長的文章。一個新的系列，小說，發(fā)表了描述新形式的短篇論文。

The Bulletin, published continuously since 1881, consists of longer monographic volumes in the field of natural sciences relating to zoology, paleontology, and geology. Current numbers are published at irregular intervals. The Bulletin was originally a place to publish short papers, while longer works appeared in the Memoirs. However, in the 1920s, the Memoirs ceased and the Bulletin series began publishing longer papers. A new series, the Novitates, published short papers describing new forms.
