《自然災(zāi)害》致力于自然災(zāi)害各方面的原始研究工作，包括災(zāi)難性事件的預(yù)測(cè)、風(fēng)險(xiǎn)管理以及自然災(zāi)害和技術(shù)災(zāi)害前兆的性質(zhì)。雖然災(zāi)害可以來(lái)自不同的來(lái)源和系統(tǒng)，例如大氣、水文、海洋、火山、地震、新構(gòu)造，但環(huán)境影響同樣是災(zāi)難性的。這需要不同的科學(xué)和業(yè)務(wù)學(xué)科之間密切合作，以加強(qiáng)減輕危害。涵蓋范圍包括以下類(lèi)別的危險(xiǎn):大氣、氣候、海洋、風(fēng)暴潮、海嘯、洪水、雪、雪崩、滑坡、侵蝕、地震、火山、人為和技術(shù)，以及風(fēng)險(xiǎn)評(píng)估。

Natural Hazards is devoted to original research work on all aspects of natural hazards, including the forecasting of catastrophic events, risk management, and the nature of precursors of natural and technological hazards.Although hazards can originate in different sources and systems, such as atmospheric, hydrologic, oceanographic, volcanologic, seismic, neotectonic, the environmental impacts are equally catastrophic. This warrants a close interaction between different scientific and operational disciplines, aimed at enhancing the mitigation of hazards.Coverage includes such categories of hazard as atmospheric, climatological, oceanographic, storm surges, tsunamis, floods, snow, avalanches, landslides, erosion, earthquakes, volcanoes, man-made and technological, as well as risk assessment.
