Lethaia是國(guó)際古生物學(xué)協(xié)會(huì)(IPA)和國(guó)際地層學(xué)委員會(huì)(ICS)的正式出版物，出版古生物學(xué)和地層學(xué)領(lǐng)域的國(guó)際感興趣的文章。這些文章集中于新思想和方法的發(fā)展以及對(duì)具有廣泛意義的新特征的描述，而不是常規(guī)的描述。古生物學(xué)和生態(tài)地層學(xué)是該期刊的核心課題。除了文章之外，Lethaia還以討論、介紹當(dāng)前科學(xué)活動(dòng)、評(píng)論和社論的形式發(fā)表了一些較短的文章。Lethaia成立于1968年，是丹麥、挪威和瑞典科學(xué)家的合資企業(yè)，旨在促進(jìn)現(xiàn)代科學(xué)出版方法的發(fā)展，并為迅速出版具有廣泛國(guó)際興趣的精心準(zhǔn)備的手稿提供媒介。

A formal publication outlet for the International Palaeontological Association (IPA) and the International Commission on Stratigraphy (ICS), Lethaia publishes articles of international interest in the fields of palaeontology and stratigraphy. The articles concentrate on the development of new ideas and methods and descriptions of new features of wide significance rather than routine descriptions.Palaeobiology and ecostratigraphy are the core topics of the journal. In addition to articles, Lethaia contains shorter contributions in the form of discussions, presentations of current scientific activities, reviews and editorials.Lethaia was launched in 1968 as a joint venture between scientists in Denmark, Norway, and Sweden, with the aim of promoting the development of modern methods in scientific publishing and of providing a medium for rapid publication of well-prepared manuscripts of wide international interest.
