皇家醫(yī)學會的這份季刊是為熱帶和發(fā)展中國家的人民提供醫(yī)療服務的期刊，重點是地區(qū)一級醫(yī)院和社區(qū)服務。它是一個出版熱帶經(jīng)驗原創(chuàng)作品的論壇；一個教授當前知識在偏遠社區(qū)特殊情況下的適當應用的工具；以及在許多不同環(huán)境中處理相同疾病問題的醫(yī)務人員之間的交流方式。此外，還出版了與發(fā)展中國家醫(yī)療實踐特別相關主題的偶爾補充資料，并免費提供給訂戶。

This quarterly publication of The Royal Society of Medicine is a journal for those who serve the medical needs of populations in tropical and developing countries, with emphasis on district-level hospital and community services. It is a forum for the publication of original work arising from tropical experience; a vehicle for teaching the appropriate application of current knowledge to the special circumstances of remote communities; and a means of communication between medical staff dealing with the same disease problems in many different environments. Occasional supplements on topics of particular relevance to medical practice in developing countries are also published and are supplied free to subscribers.
