該雜志是一種國際媒體，用于出版工程地質(zhì)學(xué)領(lǐng)域的原始研究、案例歷史和綜合評論。包括所有與工程、環(huán)境和安全有關(guān)的地質(zhì)研究。編輯會考慮論文的主題,比如航空照片解釋土地使用、控制危害的地質(zhì)過程(地震、洪水、河流改道、土地,等等),河地質(zhì)影響因素的評估行為,恢復(fù)地下水供應(yīng),現(xiàn)場評估產(chǎn)生地震的斷層,地面貯存危險(xiǎn)廢物的,標(biāo)準(zhǔn)的技術(shù)偵察、工程地質(zhì)測繪等。為了保持較高的科學(xué)水平，所有的論文都將由編輯委員會進(jìn)行評審。其目標(biāo)是出版一份具有國際覆蓋面的期刊，為工程地質(zhì)學(xué)作為一門專業(yè)的發(fā)展作出貢獻(xiàn)。

The journal is an international medium for the publication of original studies, case histories, and comprehensive reviews in the field of engineering geology. Included are all geological studies that can be relevant to engineering, environmental concerns and safety. The editors will consider papers on subjects such as aerial photograph interpretation for land usage, control of hazards from geological processes (earthquakes, floods, river diversions, land slips, etc.), assessment of geological factors affecting river behaviour, rehabilitation of groundwater supplies, field assessment of earthquake-generating faults, criteria for ground storage of hazardous wastes, techniques of reconnaissance, geological mapping for engineering, etc. To maintain a high scientific level all papers will be refereed by the Editorial Board. The objective is to produce a journal with international coverage that will contribute to the development of engineering geology as a profession.
